Newcastle United robbed again in another late injury time equaliser

Despite a rather disappointing conclusion, this was a cracking football match between two comitted teams that gave every drop of energy to the cause. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many players of both teams dropping to the ground in sheer exhaustion at the final whistle.

A Nice Welcome Start to 2011 for Newcastle United

Probably too early to predict, but if we can manage another 5 wins starting from Wednesday night match at home against serious relegation candidate West Ham United and then Mackems away, we can be more comfortable to face the rests of this season.

Newcastle United Lack of Quality Midfielder in the absence of Joey Barton

A hard won point against a very well organised team. I couldn’t fault the effort, but the plain facts are that without Ben Arfa and Barton we lack creative quality in midfield.

A win and a farewell match for Newcastle and Steven Taylor

Canny showing against inferior opposition, and a victory that had us pondering in ‘Rupali’ on when was the last time we had a comfortable home win, and who was the last Toon player to score a hat trick at home. Most thought the latter would have been Alan Shearer but no one could remember against...

Newcastle was in the right spirit in an incredible atmosphere

Gawd, what a knee trembler!! Giving them the lead after 3mins didn’t exactly help either. I feel emotionally drained, relieved and delighted in equal measure, but you know what, that game tonight was a credit to the PL. Two teams under incredible pressure, but totally committed; played in the right spirit in an incredible atmosphere.

The grim reality after all the hype and euphoria

Well, after all the hype and euphoria the grim reality settled back in this afternoon. In many respects this was very similar to the recent games v ManU and Arsenal – once again we competed really well for an hour before conceding a soft goal that knocked the stuffing, and the fight, out of the...

Newcastle got a lesson to be learned

The bottom line from last Newcastle performance against ManU was we got nowt from a very creditable performance in a game we most certainly should have taken a point from, and frankly it would not have been robbery if we’d taken all three.
