I must confess, I was not able to catch the game yesterday and therefore will not attempt to do a summary on events as I believe you must at least watch the game live (be it on television if needs must) to appreciate proceedings fully. What I will say though is that this is certainly not the scenario we wanted. Avoiding the replay was supposedly paramount with the Europa League returning in mid-February. However, we’re in the situation we are in after what was an exciting game of football.

Leicester took an early lead through a Bamba tap-in but had their lead cancelled out by a delightful strike from James Milner, his first goal for his new club. The team then settled as Vieira and Milner began to impose themselves on the game. Tevez put City ahead just before half time giving us a slightly undeserved lead at the break. But the lead was short-lived after Leicester skipper Andy King pounced on a costly Joe Hart error.
The replay is scheduled for Tuesday 18th January, three days after the Wolves game meaning that Silva is unlikely to start if he is to make his return against Mick McCarthy’s side. Just to confirm, Edin Dzeko cannot feature in the replay as all players have to be registered before the 12pm deadline on the Friday before the tie, regardless of a replay occurring. However, even without those two we should have more enough to dispatch of Leicester at Eastlands.
