Kalju came to Valkeakoski last week for a pre-season friendly. After conceding in the first minute they fought back tenaciously against a young Haka side to secure a 1-1 draw. The game wasn’t that interesting, as the players didn’t move that quickly in the -10 frost, but Kalju’s colourful and sponsor-laden bus provided a garish backdrop at the inaptly named Sahara field.
